Pictures of some of the activities I have been involved with during October and November. I taught a braiding class to ladies who want to master the butting technique. Our project was an all butted basket or mat to focus on getting the tubes connected in the right sequence! 5 times in one class and they all succeeded!
Members of the Greenway Fiber Arts Society volunteered at the Pioneer Settlement Fall Jamboree in Barberville FL in November. We were requested to wear period costume from !840's thru 1930. I fortunately had my grandmothers feather hat from the 1930's to add authenticity to my costume. We hooked rugs, braided rugs, and had the spinning wheel going too!
The Hontoon Hooking retreat in Deland FL was delightful. The resort is on the St. John's river, a peaceful setting for the week. I attended on Wednesday and everyone was having a great time and accomplishing their goal of relaxing and hooking.
Once again, I don't have pictures of the Tampa Hook-in! I get busy talking to everyone and don't think to get my camera out to get a shot of all the wondrous rugs created. Thank you all the ladies who work hard all year for this event. Yes, I did win a raffle basket and it was full of treasures!
Class is in full swing and students keep me busy. I enjoy their creativity and eagerness to learn, and willingness to try something new. Thanks for being my students.
I think that is all.
