Joseph and his coat of many colors

Little Joseph is hooked and prodded with all left over selvages and I did not even make a little dent in my extra large collection!  His body as well as the flower is done using the proddy technique, pulling short pieces of wool up leaving the ends on top.  I shirred the flower stem by stitching a running stitch though the strip then turned it on edge and sewed it to the backing before hooking around it.  Background is regular hooking  and jammed in tight to make the loops wiggly.  Wool appliqué on the leaf with a bullion stitch bug, my favorite, then the leaf is attached with a button.  At the Florida Tropical Weaver Conference last week I purchased some wonderful core-spun alpaca fiber.  I think it adds a nice finishing touch to my little left over selvage project.
