Wool and silk from the dye pot

One day for fun I decided to dye my wool and silk fabric together, in the same dye pot, with the same dye solution.  Resulting in coordinating fabrics, the hand-dyed wool and silk will be wonderful to use together.  The silk resulted in a lighter value than the wool and will add a nice shimmery layer to my next hooked piece.  I used Dyin' on the Back Porch formulas by Faith Williston of Ocean Springs MS.  I am anxious to hook up a sample piece to show how to use the silk.  The silk fabric is new to me so it will be all experimental.  I will let you know.

The Ocala McGown Rug Hooking Guild #120 held their May meeting at my home today.  It was kind of warm out so we hooked inside today, had a very short business meeting, then lunch.  We are all very good cooks, compliments to everyone.  Our guild will begin meetings again in October.  The schedule will be out later in the summer, but I know the schedule includes some lessons on braiding, finishing techniques, decorative stitches, and more.
