Congratulations to Betty!

Congratulations to Betty Pearce, of Arizona/Wisconsin.  Grand Champion Hand-hooked Rug category at the Walworth County Fair in Wisconsin 2013.  Betty is one of my students and we are able to get together for a class a couple times a year in addition to lessons by phone and photo.

Betty hooked this heart rug from a drawing her granddaughter made. Emma, 3 years old at the time, used her favorite colors in the drawing so Betty carefully duplicated the colors in the rug.   She added a flower of longer loops in the corner along with Emma's initials.   This will definately be a treasured hand-made heirloom for her family for years to come.   Maybe, one day, Emma will become a rug hooker also.
