A wonderful surprise.....

A wool appliqué SURPRISE!

My very dear friend Karen Lehman surprised me with a gift of a beautiful framed wool appliqué piece she stitched up without me knowing it was a gift for me. Earlier in the summer Karen came to my home for a couple hours of fiber fun. She brought her new pattern to pick out wool; we practiced many embroidery stitches, played with all types of fibers and threads, and laughed.  Time really flies, so four hours later it was time to go.   She never mentioned the piece again until one day at her home she said “I have something for you”.   Karen appliquéd it beautifully, carefully stitching the lettering, added embroidery embellishments and had it framed. I am honored to be her friend and proud to display her work of art in my living room.
